Back in August 1999 I bought a Permabag for my Polo G 40 complete with the three humidity absorbing cylinders.

My car is parked in a garage with a wooden door. The floor is made of bone-stones. Dirt trickles onto the Permabag from the top of the ceiling and the walls around the car are all damaged with nitric acid up to a height of 1.5-2meters, due to the dampness in the floor.

Ever since 1999 my car has remained stored inside my Permabag until this very day,  always under these very same dreadful conditons  I always brought the three moisture-absorbing cylinders home every two months, dried them in the oven for four to five hours at 220C, let them cool overnight and put them back in the Permabag the following day.

I have not done anything else with regard to rust prevention.

Today, after 23 years of storage inside my Permabag, my mechanic and I inspected my Polo to see what parts would be needed, seeing as I want to register it as a classic car and drive it in 2023. We were both astonished and very, very pleasantly surprised.

We couldn't even find a hint of rust on the entire vehicle, even the brake discs were  rust-free and looked as if they had only just been used.

After 23 years of use, I can only praise this Permabag highly and recommend it unreservedly for long term storage of a car.

I have been keeping my classic car in a Permabag over the last three winters. I live in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, where the average winter humidity is 80 - 90%. Although the inside of my garage feels and smells cold and damp, the humidity inside the Permabag is 50 - 65%, depending on temperature. When I unzip the Permabag in the spring, the interior of my car is and smells clean and dry, with the cotton cover that I covered the car with the preceding Autumn bone dry to the touch. I have no issues starting the engine. It is abundantly clear to me that Permabag works.

Very happy with the product and service. I spoke to a very helpful person on the phone before purchasing, and I was very reassured by the knowledge and answers to my questions.
